Meeker travels to Purcell for week 3 tilt

This week, the Meeker Bulldogs (1-1) travel to Purcell (1-1) looking to avenge their first loss of the young season.

Head coach DJ Howell is convinced his team will rebound after stumbling last week, losing 28-8 to the Wildcats.

“I give credit to [Bethel],” Meeker coach DJ Howell said. “They’re a good team and came to play. On our end, turning the ball over five times hurt us. There are a few minor details we can improve and I feel we will end up where we need to be.”

According to Howell, the five turnovers are a team-high during his tenure.

Through two games this season, Meeker’s Caden Wolford totalled 311 yards and three touchdowns. Wolford added five sacks from the linebacker position.

Keavin Grady leads the receiving corps with 97 yards and a touchdown.

Senior quarterback Budgie Cameron tossed for 112 yards with one touchdown and an interception. He’s amassed 54 yards on the ground and averages 7.71 yards per carry.
