Northwestern tabbed sixth in the GAC Western Division

Russellville, Ark. – The Great American Conference released their preseason coaches’ poll this morning for women’s basketball, with the Lady Rangers tabbed for sixth place in the Western Division. The preseason poll is voted on by the 12 head coaches in the conference.
Northwestern received six points, which placed them in sixth in the Western Division. Southeastern and Southwestern tied atop the with three first-place votes and 23 total points. Southern Nazarene, who claimed 17 points to come in third, East Central in fourth with 13 points and Oklahoma Baptist is slated in fifth with eight points.

The Eastern Division is led by Harding with 24 overall points and four first-place votes, followed by Arkansas Tech with the other two first-place votes and 22 total points. Henderson State and Southern Arkansas received 15 points each, while Arkansas-Monticello and Ouachita Baptist wrap up the poll tied for fifth with seven points. 

The Red-and-Black is led by Bailey Brown. The senior wrapped up her junior campaign scoring over 1,000 points and pulling down over 500 rebounds. Brown currently sits at ninth all-time with 1,125 points and is currently holding the seventh spot for rebounds with 617.
The Lady Rangers will host Southern Nazarene on Jan. 7 to open GAC Divisional play.
