TULSA – The Oklahoma Baptist women’s soccer team opened the exhibition portion of the 2021 campaign with a 2-0 setback to Oral Roberts University Saturday afternoon.
“I thought that under the circumstances and having only been together for just a week that we played well,” said OBU head coach Mike White. “I am excited to see how well we will play once conference begins,” said White.
The Golden Eagles wasted no time and opened the scoring in the 21st minute off a corner kick with a touch from Rachel Baker. Samantha See and Martha Helsee both picked up assists on the opening goal, which gave ORU a 1-0 advantage..
In the 38th minute, the Golden Eagles extended their lead to two when Mia Kitterman found the back of the net, coming off of an assist from Pamela Caballeros.
Hannah White led the Bison offense, posting three shots with two on goal. Kaylee Swaner and Morgan Krispense both finished the game with one shot on goal apiece
OBU will open up its home slate with a four-game homestand when they Oklahoma Christian on Feb. 2.
