OBU returns 1-3 after series with No. 22 West Texas A&M

CANYON, TX – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball team fell 9-3 to West Texas A&M to close out the four-game series Saturday afternoon.
 
OBU came out of the gate hot, taking an early 1-0 lead on a Ramon Enriquez RBI double, scoring Cliff Pradd. The Buffaloes responded with a 2-1 advantage after the first inning.
 
OBU tied things up in the third frame when Kevin Saenz scored on a fielder’s choice.

West Texas scored four runs in the fourth inning, and one in the fifth and one more in the sixth.

Kaimana Barolome scored the third Bison run off an Enriquez double in the top of the eighth inning. West Texas added another run in the bottom of the eighth.

Enriquez led the Bison offense with two RBIs and three hits. 

Walker Keller recorded an RBI in four at bats. Keller leads the club with two home runs and six RBI

Shawnee graduate, Kade Self, went 2-for-14 over the four-game stretch. Self scored one run and was hit by a pitch.

OBU split a doubleheader with West Texas A&M Friday. Paul Rizzo pitched five scoreless innings, striking out four to earn his first win of the season.

On Thursday, The Bison were blanked 4-0 in the season opener.
 
OBU will return to action Feb. 12 at the University of Central Oklahoma Festival. Chris Cox’s club will take on Emporia State, with first pitch coming at 12 p.m.
