Oklahoma Baptist continues to roll with win at East Central

ADA – The Oklahoma Baptist men’s basketball team continued its dominance of the Great American Conference Western Division after upending East Central 78-69 Thursday evening.

The win marked coach Jason Eaker’s 50th triumph as head coach of the Bison. He became the second fastest to reach the mark in program history.

OBU canned 12 of 27 three pointers, with seven coming in the second half. Jordan Thompson led the club with five treys.

The Bison held a 34-27 advantage at halftime.

Jarius Hicklen led the team with 19 points. The sophomore hauled in five rebounds and dished out three assists.

Jordan Thompson chipped in 17 points. Brantly Thompson contributed 15 points in the road victory.

Harrison Stoddart recorded his sixth double-double of the 2021 campaign, stuffing the stat sheet with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Nigel Wilcox hauled in 10 boards.

Matt Garriga led ECU with 18 points. Josh Apple and Gerren Jackson scored 13 and 12 respectively.

OBU moves to 13-4 overall and 13-3 in the GAC. They will return home Saturday for the final regular season game of the season against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
