Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners declare state of emergency

At Monday’s Board of Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the commissioners approved a resolution declaring a state of Emergency for Pottawatomie County.

With the proclamation, Pottawatomie County can receive state and federal aid.

Pottawatomie County received approval to begin a search for an Emergency Management Director. The county will accept applications for 30 days before moving forward with the hiring process.

The commissioners tabled any action regarding a resolution of county officials’ salary increase. More clarification was needed on when raises could go into effect.

Asher Public Schools will not receive a 2017 or newer activity bus this week. The two bids submitted did not meet the bid specs. Midwest Bus Sales submitted a bid for a 2020 new bus and a 2013 used bus. Summit Bus submitted a ‘no bid.’

No action was taken on approving a contract between Pottawatomie County and Lippert Bros. The contract was to assess the MidFirst Bank property.

The commissioners approved OMMA certificates of compliance to Old McDoobies Pharm Too LLC, Redbud Pharmaceuticals, High Cultivation Farms LLc, PottCo Inc., Left’s Green Dream LLC, Medicine Woman LLC.
