SWOSU Lady Bulldogs avenge lone loss with 30-point victory at East Central

ADA – The No. 17-ranked SWOSU women’s basketball team was on fire as they avenged their lone defeat of the season with a 93-63 victory over East Central Saturday at Kerr Activity Center.
Both teams struggled to get going offensively in the first quarter, hitting a combined nine field goals and going into the second quarter deadlocked at 11-all.

SWOSU scored the first eight points of the second quarter and never looked back, knocking down seven threes in the period and hitting 11-of-16 field goals overall to build a 42-28 lead at the break.
The Lady Bulldogs did not let up in the second half, building 22-point lead at one point in the third quarter before pushing their advantage to as high as 37 in the fourth. SWOSU scored at least 25 points in each of the final three quarters and topped the 90-point mark for the seventh time in 12 games this season.
Three players reached double figures for the Lady Dawgs, who were led by Karly Gore with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, which included a pair of three-pointers. 

Makyra Tramble chipped in19 points and tied a career-high with 17 rebounds, five assists and four steals. In her 40th career game, Tramble knocked in her 100th career three-pointer.

Lauren Ramey finished with 16 points and four rebounds.

Madison Rehl led ECU with 11 points.
SWOSU is now 11-1 on the year and winners of five straight since their previous loss to East Central.

SWOSU holds a two and a half game advantage over ECU in the Great American Conference’s Western Division standings heading into Monday’s rivalry tilt against Northwestern Oklahoma State. The game is set for 5:30 pm start time at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford.
