Tramble scores career-high in win over OBU

WEATHERFORD – Behind a career-high 33 points from sophomore Makyra Tramble, the No. 15-ranked Southwestern Oklahoma State women defeated Oklahoma Baptist 93-64 Saturday at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
 
Tramble led the offensive onslaught, helping SWOSU build a lead of 32-11 after the first quarter and scoring 25 first-half points as the Lady Bulldogs scored 52 points in the first half and led by 19 at the break.

SWOSU scored at least 19 points in each quarter and topped the 90-point plateau for the eighth time this season after converting on 45.1% (32-71) of their field goal attempts, including 14-of-37 (37.8%) shooting from three-point range.
 
The dominant sophomore campaign from Tramble continued as she set a new career-high with 33 points on 11-16 shooting, including 5-10 shooting from three-point range, and she hit 6-of-7 free throw attempts. She finished filling the stat sheet with six rebounds, five steals, four assists and one blocked shot in 36 minutes of action. Macy Gore added 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists while Bethany Franks chipped in 13 points and six rebounds while Lauren Ramey also reached double figures with 11 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.
 
“We really had something to prove today and that’s one thing about Mak, she’s going to come out and put on a show because she had something to prove,” Head Coach Kelsi Musick. “We all had a chip on our shoulder today, and we really took that to heard and knew that we needed to make a statement today.”

Charissa Price led OBU scoring 15 points on the afternoon. Kalifa Ford added 13 points and four rebounds off the bench. Jaylin Stapleton scored 12 to go with six boards and four assists. 

Andreja Peciuraite scored nine points to go with a career-high 12 rebounds. 
 
With the win, the Lady Dawgs improve to 12-2 on the year heading into a rivalry showdown with Northwestern Oklahoma State, set for Monday night at 5:30 pm in Weatherford.

The Bison will return to action on Thursday as they hit the road to Durant to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State in their final regular season match up. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
